Kubotek Kosmos - the return of KCM
I’m pleased to point out that Kubotek3D announced today the commercial availability of Kubotek Kosmos, our 3D software development framework.
As readers of this forum know, this product was first announced as the KCM modeler in April 2016 and pulled from commercial availability in July 2016. KCM remains the name of the central component of the Kosmos framework.
Currently Kosmos components are used in released Kubotek products for licensing, usage statistics, compare, IGES and STEP translators, and since V15 in a limited number of KeyCreator modeling functions such as loft (see What’s New).
We will be making several more related announcements (new CAD utility products) leading up to IMTS 2018 in Chicago on September 10-15.

RE:Kubotek Kosmos - the return of KCM
Hi John.
The original announcement of the KCM modeler in 2016 was very exiting news for many KC users.
Is this new product going to be integrated into the KC platform? Will we see the kind of enhanced features and performance that were announced in 2016?
All the best
Mike Gutman

RE:Kubotek Kosmos - the return of KCM
Mike,
The 2016 announcement was too early.
With the KeyCreator 2017 V15 relelase we explained that KeyCreator is a "dual-kernel" product with ACIS as the main solids/surface database. The Kosmos/KCM component's support role in KeyCreator will remain the case for now.
Note that the list of modeling features on the Kosmos product page does not include solids blending and local operators. These are critical for a CAD program.
Thanks,
John
