Costs of Miscommunication of Engineering Changes
Kubotek3D recently conducted a survey of active KeyCreator users in US/Canada to ask about processes around communication of engineering changes. One of the most interesting issues we learned was that 79% of respondents have seen negative impacts from miscommunication of engineering changes. The two most commonly reported impacts are re-work and scrap parts, which are commonly tracked costs for many manufacturing businesses.
I'm curious if anyone here has specific examples which they can share of incorrectly handled engineering changes leading to measurable losses (please leave the company name off if that is sensitive).
K-Compare Revision helps to quickly create better documentation of engineering changes. How often could that prevent these types of miscommunication?
