Getting old?
1991, MANY MEMORIES!!
Before Livingstone Devis lost CADKEY in the stock market
and Diehl brothers sold SURFWARE.

For me the best combination that existed.

RE:Getting old?
Wow! That is a bit ahead of my time. I started using Cadkey 97 in school but had to work with Cadkey 7 when I started my carreer as draftman ... Yep the good ol days of using a tablet.

RE:Getting old?
I have one of those Cadkey mugs somewhere at home.

We started with Cadkey (I think it was version 4 or 5) and DraftPak in 1992, we later added FastSurface, those were the days.

Cadkey didn't do solids at that time, I don't know how I could do my job today without solids.

RE:Getting old?
The first version of Cadkey I started learning on was 3.? The second version that I used in an design department was version 5, then right away 6. The first version I bought on my own was Cadkey 7. I have maintainend it to this day.

I hear you loud and clear. It would be impossible for me, though I still draw everything in wireframe mode :)

I had a Cadkey mug, don't know where it went.

BTW, I'm still using the omnikey keyboard with the F keys on the left side (hard to come by these days) using the Cadkey Classic mode menus. Couldn't imagine drawing any other way faster :)! Thank you Kubotek for keeping this option!!!

I still love KeyCreator and couldn't think of any other CAD software to use that comes even close. Parametrics and I certainly don't get along at all.

Manuel, thank you for making great videos for the KeyCreator community! I'm glad I'm not the only "older" guy here :)!

RE:Getting old?
1991 was a good year! I started learning the product that summer and ran the 5 1/4"floppy disk duplicator to produce the DRAFT-PAK update.

RE:Getting old?
In fact, I learned CAKEY v 1.5 in 1989, when I was working at Zenith, that's when I fell in love with that powerful CAD.
In 1992 I became a sub-distributor in Mexico.

Something to remember.
Some bad decisions:
- Cadkey hired the VP of Autodesk.
- Autodesk selected ACIS and Cadkey XOX as their core modeller.
- Varimetrix (now ZW3D) joined Cadkey and ended with problems. (The Secret is Out!)
- Mastercam joined Cadkey and ended up with problems. (Consider It!)
