Hey all,
I used to be on here a lot before Kubotek shut down the forum (Brandcd was my handle), and my company changed to SW as our primary... Well we just came back to KC after 8 years away... and KC 2022 is giving me fits to configure...

So this is the biggest issue we are fighting right now, how come we can't get selected parts to highlight? Also tooltips are lacking...

believe it or not this has slowed us down to a crawl...

Hello BranCD, 

Welcome back! I am currently using KC2022SP1. Selecting an entity works as expected on my workstation. I haven't switch to SP2 yet so I can't comment. If this is a big issue for you, maybe you want to give SP1 a try... ?

Hi Brand,

Welcome back.  I remember you !

For parts highlighting go to "Edit" in the menu bar and select "system settings".  On the flyout select (click on) "Dynamic Entity Selection"   That should do it.

To pick the highlight color go to "File" in the menu bar and select "Display Colors".  You will see the options in there.

For tool tips (but not sure if this turns them on)  go to "Tools" in menu bar then "Application Options" and select "Positioning/selection" (not the child options).  At the top are some tooltip options.  Hopefully it also turns them on but am not sure.

I appreciate the response Mike,
Yeah, I got those already, just went through them again to octuple check... this is 2022 SP2 (v19.2.0).  I'm sure this has to be a check box I'm missing, but at this point I'm all out of ideas...

Ok, I tried the built in templates, and it is something with the template... not sure what with the template all the settings are almost identical (except colors)... CADKEY_American.ckt
lol it is a flakey oddness
so we need to remake our templates... So secondary question, why is chain the first part that is coming up on tooltip/pre-selection?

Well, that just warms my heart.  What was the argument for switching back to KC?

I'm the last kC holdout in a company that mostly uses Inventor.  They're talking SWX, I'm hoping I can hold out until I retire in a few years.

still using SW... we were never able to get SW to do everything we needed... we still use it... but it is super slow compared to KC... I was designing an enclosure (plastic box) there was an edit and SW drove me nuts. I spent like 4hours trying to tweak the design got fed up, eported it to old KC and "box moved" the enclosure in less than like 1-2 min into the new shape... smh. 
Sheet metal is magical in SW though, Layout is okay (better in some ways and worse in others)...
