SpaceExplorer and KC
I've had this stored away and thought I'd give it a try again after a few years.   I can't seem to slow it down enough to keep the model from flying all over the place.  I recall having this issue before and finally gave up.  Has this been resolved?  Or is there some trick I’m missing?  If I slide the speed bar all the way to the left it's almost manageable but my other CAM program slows to a crawl.

RE:SpaceExplorer and KC
Wayne,

I have good success with mine.  Maybe your drivers are dated?  Here is the about data when using the "menu" buttion on the spacemouse:

3DxWare 10 Version 10.2.0
3DxWinCore Version 17.2.0.11011
Devices SpaceMouse Pro (firmware  v.4.53)

HTH,

Mike

RE:SpaceExplorer and KC
Thanks Mike,  I did download the latest software version, first thing I thought of.  Actually, I think mine is a little newer than yours (10.3.0 and 17.3.0.12346).  I can run the tutorials just fine, it's only in KC that it's too sensitive and uncontrollable.  I wish we had access to the old forum for issues like this.

Wayne,

On menu (onboard button) / advanced settings are all of those sliders all the way left?

RE:SpaceExplorer and KC
Yes they too are all the way to the left.  The problem has to be in KC,  Moving the sliders has very little effect in KC.  In Surfcam I can move the sliders with very noticible results.  I'll contact Kubotek and see if they can help.

RE:SpaceExplorer and KC
Mike, What is you operating system?  I'm running Win 10.  KC support said there isn't a setting in KC that would change anything.  I guess I'll sell it, maybe someone with SW can use it.

RE:SpaceExplorer and KC
Wayne,
I am using 8.1.  However I have a copy of Win 10 running on a Macbook Pro in Parallels.  Give me a little time and I will try it on Win 10 (in a virtual machine).   I run KC on  it as a field computer (ie home license) without significant issues.

RE:SpaceExplorer and KC
Hi Wayne   Im not sure if this will apply to your situation or not  , but I thought I would put it out there just in case it may rellate in some way or form -    I use the Space Pilot Pro  and Had lots of issues with it in the beginning . I also use a Logitech G510 s keyboard and a logitech G700s Mouse ( keyboard gives me extra keys  18 x 3 )  and the (mouse has 9 additional programmable buttons) -   wich is awesome for those most used hotkeys etc     any way     these  Logitech items are controlled by a logitech Gaming software        Spacemouse  and Logitech some how some way created conflicts between each others software.   Space mouse used to be a part of  Logitech at 1 time  so ifigured  they would be  helpfull  in resolving my issues. However  there separation was not apparently amicable - more like a bad divorce !!     any way my issues werent resolved until trying various releases of the gaming software ,   So possibly if you are using any logitech devices your problem may lie with them !!    PS  my space mouse is like a part of my body now  I couldnt live with out it !!     Wayne Thuy

RE:SpaceExplorer and KC
Thanks Wayne.  The possibility of this being a conflict is possible and has accrued to me but why would it perform okay in other programs and the 3DConnexion tutorial?.  I do use a Logitech Performance MX Mouse with a number of the buttons programed doing various commands in KC so maybe one of those commands has the Space Explorer missed up.  When time permits next week I’ll uninstall the mouse driver and see if that makes any difference.
BTW, I found the packing slip in the Space Explorer box and it’s ten years old, wow.  I used it for a while when I got it but never could get the hang of it so I put it away to try again later.  Well it's now ten years later.   I pretty sure It was having issues with KC back then also.  I recall the model would just drift even when you didn’t have your hand on it.  Tech support suggested I calibrate it but for the life of me I can’t find how you do that.  Are you using Win10?

RE:SpaceExplorer and KC
Wayne  Yes I am using windows 10   on a work station and a laptop The spacepilot works on both.   I am glad you mentioned the drift thing  I had this issue at one time  and no matter what Tech support  suggested they couldnt get it to stop    I hounded them as i was still under warranty at the time  and they finally hooked me up with a pleasant woman in germany who called me   i downloaded several  diagnostic softwarefrom her that eventually showed my space pilot to be defective.        Within 2 days they shipped me a new one.    Long story short......  maybe if your mouse is drifting or your file  keeps rotating unassisted  your 10 year old space pilot may be nothing more than a fancy paper weight now.            have you called their tech support ??   It maybe fruitless as they are of the opinion ( which I found out the hard way ) is that if it works with their software  itsthe other softwares problem !!    maybe KC  can step up and give a seat top Space Connexion to " Debug" so to speak for other KC users that may purchase the space pilot.
