Printing a cutting plane
I have a die assembly that I have a cutting plane passing thru. I am in model mode using HLR (hidden lines removed). Looks great on the screen. When printing, the lines representing the cutting plane do not print, or are very, very faint. Thickening the lines just darkens the non-plane lines, cutting plane lines still do not print. I have tried numerous settings in the print menu, some when I print result in a major windows fault error and locks up KC, and have to use Task Manager to close it. I have tried it on a couple of different printers with the same result. I have not tried to change anything under Options/Display because not sure what to change.
I have a I7 2600K with 16GB of RAM with an Quadro FX 5600 card.
Does anyone out there have a suggestion or recommendation of settings or method to use to get a presentable print out?

RE:Printing a cutting plane
Hi Evan,
KC released a point upgrade 14.4.1 to address crashing in some configurations. Maybe this will help with the windows fault error/lockup issue you describe.
Sorry not helping with the rendering issue. I am having some anomlies also with the cutting plane which am referring to tech support. Will share if they can help and if relevant.
Best regards,
Mike

RE:Printing a cutting plane
I get the same result (and crash) as you. Why don't you just trim the die at the cutting plane and print from there?
My 2 cents

RE:Printing a cutting plane
Thank you for the idea. I tried a Trim First after establishing a line at the plane and it did allow me to create a cut section of the assembly so I could print it for a show and tell. It was a bit of a pain as apparently you can not window select and I had to trim 28 parts individually. I then figured out to use Modify/Trim Solid to Curve which allowed me to select multiple solids at once. That works. I print it out and do not save the file. Thanks for the nudge, I learned something new.
