Not seeing "Significant Changes for Improved Speed and Performance"
So I was really excited to read about the "Significant changes to display architecture for improved speed & performance." (Page 7 of the release notes for version 2019) They even have a table ahowing some timed conparisons.
Well, Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'd lkike to share some of my own time differences.....
Approximately 720 meg part file. No assemblies. No animations. No BOMs. Just solids.
Version 15.5 Open = 1min 12sec 2nd try = 1 min 11 sec
Version 2019 Open = 1 min 27 sec 2nd try = 1 min 24 sec
Fresh re-start. No other programs open on the computer. Nothing else running.
Why am I not seeing ANY performance increase, and actually a DECREASE?
Thanks,
- Jason

Jason,
I think they improved the rendering performace as you can see here:

Not sure it has any impact on opening files thought.

RE:Not seeing "Significant Changes for Improved Speed and Performance"
I've also noticed some rendering issues. Sometimes turning on a level containing gemoetry or 3d models are not shown. The workaround is to save the file close it and open it; then the gemoetrys is displayed.
Hopefully this is oing to be fixed. On a 3D mold file I was working on yester day, I had to close/open the file on every 5-6 minutes... Not very efficient way to work.

Yikes, not very efficient at all. I had to go back to 15.5 for the various reasons I've encountered. I'll wait for the fix.
