old school new school
Hey all, it has been a minute since I've been on here...
Is anyone still using 10.5 in windows 10 enviroment?
I have an issue where KC 10.5 isn't seeing certain true type fonts (monospace) in windows 10. Is a very odd behaviour, as it still seems to see a majority of the windows and word fonts...
Thank you,
Chris (brandcd in the old forum)

RE:old school new school
I tested and was unable to get any installed monospaced fonts (fixed width fonts) to open in KC 12.6 (2014) in windows 10. I even downloaded optional monospaced fonts from Microsoft directly just to test with the same result. Tested our other installed CAD software with no problems, so this is just a KC windows 10 issue...?
Does anyone else here use monospaced fonts?
Anyone running the current KC version, please let me know if they have resolved this?
Thanks

Hi Chris, it's been a long time indeed :)!
I'm running the latest version of KC and also KC9.
I added text to both versions of KC using Courier New and Lucida Sans Typewriter, which I belive are monospaced fonts. Both fonts show up in both KC versions on my end. I'm running Windows version 10.0.18363.

Hey Hans long time no chat.
Hey thanks for that, that font worked on the windows 10 tester workstation, so even if we can't get our old font to be seen, now we got an option moving forward... any ideas why any of our other monospaced, installed fonts are invisible to KC? our other CAD software packages all see them but not KC... it is messing with me...

No idea at the moment. Could you email me a font that is not working for you? I could try it here.

Chris,
I installed KC 10.5 really quickly and had no problem with the two fonts mentioned in my previous post.

RE:old school new school
Is a windows 10 registry issue, seems to have to do with multiple users/ profiles on the system. In 10 when you install a new font it puts the font into a new folder, and doesn't add the font to the nt-registry list that KC seems to pull its fonts from. this is the same behavior I saw on my personal laptop, as it has multiple users on it with kc 2014. So if you end up having installed font issues it is a registry problem with how KC locates fonts. I only know this for sure on KC 10.5.1 and 12.6.
