A similar issue was logged today and is under review for fixing in 2022 SP1 (K3D-9942:  Entities don't show in selection color when window selected).

However the issue logged was that the entity shows in the "hover" color instead of the "Selected Entity" color. If you are seeing something different, can you please report this via the support site ASAP? We plan on releasing SP1 in 2 weeks.
