Display light and intensity
Most of the time, I found myself changing the light direction (View-Advance Render-Light Direction) to the "default" settings. I think it results in a better rendering but makes perpendicular flat surfaces look very bright. This can be overcome by setting the light intensity to 1.5 or 2.0. I just think this is a better way to render 3D models; it's more in line with other CAD software as well.
My 2 cents.
