how to deform surfaces as if inflating a shape
I have a closed tent shaped design in shell form and I would like to simulate the look of adding air pressure inside so that the center of the large surfaces bulges out.  I haven't been able to get the deform face options to do anything that makes sense.

Would someone make a suggestion as to the simplest method to achieve this result. I obviously don't understand how to use this function.

Thanks
robert

RE:how to deform surfaces as if inflating a shape
Hi Robert,

One method is to use the Warp function.  On the menu select:  Modify - Warp - Position.

You can draw lines to indicate the extent of your deformation or select points.

Look at the help file on the dialog box that comes up.

The search function is broken on Kubotek University at the moment but there may be a tutorial on using this function.   Will alert tech support in the am so they can get it fixed.

There are probably others on the forum who are surfacing wizzards who can add to this.

Hope this is helpful,
Mike

The Kubotek University search function is up.

Look at KC2708 or video KCV2708 for a good tutorial on achieving what you describe.

The keyword to search on is "Deform".
