Solid model rendering issue
Has anyone noticed that the render setting "shaded - remove hidden edges" doesn't remove some lines that should be hidden in solid models?

I think I have noticed the problem over the last few versions.

RE:Solid model rendering issue
For me, in previous versions, it only did it when you had an extremely large part or assembly on the screen and when you zoomed in it cleared up. For this new release, (2019) it does it on smaller parts and does not clear up on zooming in. I have not messed with my video settings yet and I did read that some things changed in that area, so I will have to look into that.

RE:Solid model rendering issue
That's exactly what I had noticed in previous versions. Thanks for confirming what I noticed.

It's much worse in 2019. I also noticed that many of the graphics settings options in previous versions are no longer in 2019. There's less to mess with to fix rendering problems.

When I load a part in an old version 9.0.6 rendering is perfect. We keep that old version because it unfolds sheet metal solids much better than newer versions. That's been another frustration with KeyCreator over the years. It seems the software keeps gaining bells and whistles while regressing on important functions.

RE:Solid model rendering issue
Yes, I see my options for messing with graphics is depreciated. Nothing in there worked as far as changing. I did change to Direct X and lost the ability to even open Keycreator. Chris Bovin at tech support helped me with that by showing me I could open Keycreator in it's own safe mode and change that back.

I have some of the same frustrations about updates and the use of time involved with various parts. It seems this new release is bloated with Dynahandle updates/upgrades and I personally rarely use the dynahandle options. So not much for me in terms of my maintenance money, even though they say the software handles larger files better now. I did some early tests with my files vs 15.5 and couldn't see a difference. But I will try more on even bigger files. Hopefully it does handle them better and crashes/ hangs with re-start less.

RE:Solid model rendering issue
Kubotek support provided me with some info that seems to solve the rendering problem.

Select:
Add-ins
CDE Execute
Input: SetCameraDistanceScale then "OK"
Input: .005 then "Accept".

I found .005 to be best for me. values can range from 1 to .001

RE:Solid model rendering issue
Well, I guess it only "Kinda" works.   : (  It still looks wonky EVERY time you change views or do anything (like simply drawing a straight line) until you finally do an autoscale. Then, and only then, does it clear up the screen.

Please fix.

Thank you

RE:Solid model rendering issue

Horrible!

It is just so frustrating. Please fix this as I now have decided to go back to the last version to be able to work efficiently. This is such a frustrating thing. Can NOT see anything correctly with all the lines on the screen and having to redraw the screen EVERY time you do anything on the screen is not efficieant. And even so, it doesn't always work, and you are still left with all these extra lines on the screena nd you can't make out anything you are trying to see.
