Let's say you have an assembly that has detail numbers (notes) that are blue colored "formatting - text".
If you want to delete these by delete-all display-by type <notes-blue> the masking will not select these unless the "entity - color" is blue also, because the masking is only for "entity" and not "formatting-text". So it sounds like a KXL is the only option for this.
