Exporting Solid models to 2D space without hidden lines
I am trying to export a solid model to a co worker so he can use it in Auto Cad. Front, Side and Top  views with hidden lines removed. I only want to export HLR, not all geometry but no matter what I do hidden geometry is included. Compress Curves brings along hidden lines. If I can't just give him 2D HLR he needs to spend hours removing unwanted geometry.
Any thoughts? I'm sure there is an easy answer.
Thanks,
Tim

RE:Exporting Solid models to 2D space without hidden lines
Hi Tim,

There should be a way to directly export flat files from layout but it does not appear so.

The hard way that works:

Create your views in model space.
Explode the solids.
"Transform project normal move".
In QWINS (CDE add-in) "Overlap Delete" check "all" and "merge"

That should do it!

All the best,
Mike

From layout mode I am able to export 2D HLR geometries to a DWG file. When I open the DWG file only the HLR is there.

From Model mode, you can use Tool>Extract>Hidden Lines Remove Geometry. This is also getting expecting results.

In the layout, you can burst the instances after HLRing them, then there will just be flat layour geometry.
