3 D Scan import
I am using the Lidar scanner on an iPhone and would like to import the point cloud. I can import the STL and OBJ mesh files with no problem, but the base data is the point cloud and so this is more important to me.  Here is my problem, when I import the .dxf point cloud each point is a cross rather than a point, so I end up with one large furry object rather than a crisp one. Is there a way to change settings so I get points rather than crosses?

RE:3 D Scan import
Hi Burt,

This Lidar scanning in the new iPhones sounds awesome!

Try this:
Go to "Tools" in the menu bar and select "Display".  Near the top of the options is a point size input box.  Default is .03 but it can take a tiny number as long as it is greater than zero.

All the best,

Mike

RE:3 D Scan import
Thank Mike, trying it now, takes a while it is a big file. Yes, I am pretty excited too, have been waiting to get my own scanning gear but I just did not have enough work for it to pay. Now with the latest iPhone I am hoping that the problem is solved. The accuracy is not on the level of total station and the like, but for practical purposes of measuring stuff in the field, I think it will work.
