RE:Tool & Die Designers
Sure,
I have been designing in Cadkey/KeyCreator since 1984.
I have many tricks and solutions for you most have to do with macros and custom programming.
My background is designing tooling, draw dies, stamping dies, fine blanking dies, form dies, custom machinery, check gages and well the list go on and on.
Since you have 40 years of tooling experience I am sure you know what I am talking about.

RE:Tool & Die Designers
Hello,

I've been a Tool and Diemaker for 25+ years and have been designing full time for about 12 years.  Progressive, transfer, compound, draws, blanking etc.

We design and build new tooling primarily for the automotive industry.  We have a very streamlined set of design and build procedures for our tooling.  This has become a very competitive market, and it is necessary for us to be as efficient and cost effective as possible.  The tooling must produce the part, to the tolerances, for the expected lifespan, but nothing more.

Keycreator lends itself perfectly to this business model.  It is efficient, cost effective and straight to the point, without any fancy bells and whistles.  My design software is a tool that I use to complete a job and ultimately at the end of the day hopefully make a profit.

With Direct modelling I tell the software what I want to do, with Parametric modelling the software tells me what I have to do.
