how to pull a 2D pattern from solid
I have a solid part. Can you 'pull' a 2D from the whole solid pattern on the part shown. Rather than redrawing the pattern? I tried to copy and paste by trying to selecting the cutout pattern but it just copied the whole solid. Maybe you can collapse or delete the solid... I just have not been able to see how to do it. Can it be done?

If you are looking for just the top surface you can extract the wire data by using Tools, Extract, Wire from Solid, then select the option Face from Solid.  Select ok and the selected has been created. You will not see it until you move the solid or move the extracted data.

You can also use Generic Burst but you will need to make a duplicate copy of the solid because once it is bursted the whole solid is converted to wireframe.

I want to thank you for your concise response. The extract wires was exactly what I needed. There are many functions within KC that I still need to learn. Thank you for pointing me to it. Johann's blended chamfer/radius was also very good with a good simple understandable demo.
