Creat References Question
I have a part file with 3 levels in it. One level has the 3D model and the other levels have some construction lines. I save the file with only the model level showing and made active, other levels are off and also made not selectable. I open a new file that will be my assembly file. In that new file I go to Assemblies, Create Reference, and select my model file. At the Creating a New Reference Tab, I have everything unchecked except Use Current CPlane and Animate Placement. I place the model just fine but all my levels come thru, model plus construction lines. I wish to keep the construction lines with the model file I just do not want them showing up in my assembly. Is there, or is there not a way to bring in only the level you wish to create a reference of. The only way I have figured it out so far is to delete all other levels and have only one level in the model file. I would rather not delete all my construction lines if possible because if I have to go back and edit the model, without some of those lines it makes it a bit more difficult. I am a bit new to the assembly side of KC and it is taking a bit to wrap my head around it.

RE:Creat References Question
In your original (component) part file, open the splitter and manipulate the 'level sets' tab.

You could either create a new level set containing only the levels you want to show in the assembly, or uncheck the levels that you don't want to show in the 'Default' level set.

RE:Creat References Question
Thanks for the help. I did look earlier at the Help File under Part Splitter, but I did not see anything regarding my issue. I looked again just now and in my version 13.5.2, I do not even see a reference to the Level Sets tab you described!  Fact is, it looks like Features and Animation do not appear there either. Anyway, I am sure I will have additional questions going forward as I start to use the Assemblies function. It is a bit confusing at first, but like most software, you have to just keep trying and poking around and you eventually will figure it out.
